Julie is passionate about equal justice and is committed to doing all she can to assist families when preparing for and or navigating our complex long-term care system. She is an experienced elder law attorney who has practiced in Wisconsin for the past 24 years.

Julie’s work history includes serving as the Director of Aging & Disability Services for Easter Seals Wisconsin, in Madison, Wisconsin, and serving as the Legal Director of the Elder Law Center of the Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups (CWAG).   Julie started her career working alongside her father in a small general practice firm for 16 years in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Julie is a member of the Elder Law Section of the State Bar and is the Editor of the Elder Law Journal of Wisconsin.

She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Julie has donated her time to the State Bar of Wisconsin by serving on several committees including the Lawyer Referral and Information Services Committee of the Wisconsin State Bar; the Strategic Planning Committee for the Provision of Legal Assistance Services to Low Income Individuals. Julie is a frequent presenter at Continuing Legal Education seminars on the topics of Medicaid, Special needs trusts, and long-term care planning.

Julie is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a 1992 graduate of the UW Law School where she has also taught in the general practice course, as well as serving as a volunteer and mentor in the Pro Bono Project. Julie was recently appointed to the Pro bono Honor Society of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
